Publish in the New Physician: AMSA's award-winning magazine, The New Physician (TNP), provides comprehensive coverage of issues affecting medical education, premedical education, and health-care. Unlike some association publications, TNP is not a house organ. It operates independently within AMSA and has an editorial calendar set a year in advance. Although the publication is produced by a professional staff, there are many ways you can contribute, including joining The New Physician’s source list. By joining the source list, you will become a New Physician resource where you can share your ideas with 38,000 TNP readers! Individuals on this list will receive occasional e-mails or phone calls from a TNP writer to comment on the record about a particular topic, share their experiences for a feature or even just offer their help with finding sources for a story. Not interested in being part of the source list, but want to contribute? Contact the TNP staff with your ideas and start writing! More information may be found at http://www.amsa.org/tnp/guide.cfm.
The Lancet is the world’s leading medical journal on global health. It recently created an online section exclusively for students, known as The Lancet Student. Its Web site receives hundreds of visitors a day from more than 165 countries. All articles submitted to The Lancet Student are peer-reviewed and upheld to a high academic standard. The Lancet Student has devoted an entire section to only AMSA and its members. The announcement was made at AMSA’s annual convention in March. All AMSA members are encouraged to submit to the publication. Sharing global experiences will hopefully spread enthusiasm and inspire others to create meaningful contributions to global health. For more information, visit www.thelancetstudent.com, or contact The Lancet Student editor, Rhona MacDonald, at This e-mail address is being protected from spam bots, you need JavaScript enabled to view it .
Are you currently doing research and want others to know about it? Well present it at the AMSA National Convention! This is a great opportunity to share all of your hard work with hundreds of like-minded individuals. At the 2008 National Convention, research presentations were sponsored by the National Institutes of Health (NIH). |
